Career of Mikhail Prokhorov

Mikhail Prokhorov, president of Onexim Group, has not made a single career mistake, so he was able to take full advantage of the vague time of perestroika.
At that time he worked at the International Bank for Economic Cooperation, where he and the current governor of the Krasnoyarsk region, Alexander Khloponin, set up production of boiled jeans. Then Onexim Bank emerged, and Prokhorov and his business partner Vladimir Potanin quite successfully built a joint business empire: RAO Norilsk Nickel, SIDANCO Oil Company, a piece of Novolipetsk Steel and most of the North-Western Shipping Company. But their cooperation was enough for 10 years, after which they decided to share the business worth more than $33 billion. Prokhorov created a group with the already known name Onexim to manage assets to be allocated from the joint business with Potanin.
